Choosing Industrial Panel Signs
Choosing industrial panel signs might seem like an easy task at first glance, but once you look into the health and safety regulations it’s not as easy as you may think. Murrplastik offers a wide selection of industrial panel labels, that meet all legal and safety requirements.
Labels for industrial applications
The European standard EN 60204 stipulates that all terminals in switch cabinets must be clearly identified and must be visible and legible in the long-term. Our labels for industrial equipment are often used on standard electronic components in a control cabinet, for machinery such as protective devices and bus modules to name but a few. All of Murrplastik’s labelling for industrial application is produced to meet the relevant health and safety requirements.
Types of materials used for labels for industrial equipment
When choosing signs for industrial panels, it is important to research the material you wish to use. Typically, labels for industrial equipment need to be hard-wearing and resistant to ozone, chemicals and heat. One of the main materials used at Murrplastik is aluminium. We use a selection of different types of aluminium, including: Anodised Aluminium and Alumatt triple layered aluminium, meaning there is always a material suitable for your industrial application.
Anodised aluminium is the best suited to industrial applications. An already resistant metal, the anodised feature of aluminium further enhances the durability of the material and its ability to resist corrosion and heat. Anodised aluminium can withstand temperatures up to approximately 200°C.
All aluminium materials come in a basic size of either 140 x 140mm or 300 x 200mm and can produce single or ready-made labels for industrial applications.
Labelling processes for industrial equipment
Murrplastik offers four main types of labelling processes:
• Engraving
• Etching
• Laser
• Thermal
Industrial signage is commonly produced using the laser process, as this provides long-lasting, durable labels for industrial equipment. The high-quality lettering comes from our innovative laser marking systems, which makes the inscription impervious to damage by external environmental factors, even under harsh industrial conditions such as oils, gases and moisture.
Materials most often used in laser labelling include:
• Polycarbonate
• Anodised aluminium
• Stainless steel
• Polypropylene
